How to top up your Breeze account
£20 minimum, three ways to add funds. Auto top-up is the recommended setup for commuters. App, web and bank transfer all credit balance instantly via card.
The three top-up methods
1. M6toll app
iOS and Android. Log in to your Breeze account, tap Account, then Top Up. Choose an amount (£20 minimum, £500 maximum) and pay with a saved or new card.
Quickest method on the road, useful at services if you realise you are short.
2. Web at m6toll.co.uk
Log in through the account portal at m6toll.co.uk. Click Top Up. Same payment options as the app.
Best for setting up auto top-up and managing card details.
3. Auto top-up
Configure once: trigger balance (typical £10), top-up amount (typical £20 or £50). The system charges your card whenever the balance drops below the trigger.
Best for commuters and high-frequency users. Never running out of balance.
What if your balance runs out at the plaza?
ANPR still captures the crossing. The toll attempts to debit the balance and, if insufficient funds, falls back to the registered card. If both fail, the crossing becomes unpaid and triggers the normal grace-window catch-up process (pay online within the window) before a PCN. Set auto top-up to avoid this entirely.
